PDM firmware info

 

Firmware version

The PDM firmware version. PDM firmwares are always included in MTune updates.

 

Firmware version

The hardware revision of the connected PDM, see below note regarding the revision changes.

 

Hardware serial

The hardware serial number of the connected PDM.

 

 

Manual PDm firmware update

 

Press the Manual PDM firmware update... button to browse for a PDM firmware file to be sent from the MaxxECU to the PDM and then flashed.

Note: make sure the ECU is wired to PDM output 1 and set to ECU supply or ECU supply, power hold and PDM has a stable power supply during the update.

 

 

How to recover from a failed PDM firmware update

 

1. Wire +12V and Engine GND directly to the ECU and PDM, to make sure they always has CONSTANT power.

2. Press manual PDM firmware update button in PDM --> PDM version, manual PDM firmware update, and browse for the PDM firmware file found in the MTune installation firmware folder on your computer.

 

3. If the above fails, please change (or just make sure) the bitrate speed of the ECU and the PDM to 500kbit, explained in PDM settings and try the manual PDM firmware update again.

4. Verify PDM RealTime Data values changing.

 

 

PDM hardware revisions

 

REV 4 units

An updated Low power mode is now available, drawing 0.0015A (1.5mA) in sleep mode and 0,025A (25mA) when powered.

 

REV 3 units

First Low power mode was added, drawing 0,004A (4mA) in sleep mode and 0.070A (70mA) when powered

 

REV2 (prototype units)

Low power mode is not available on these units yet. Even with all outputs off, the PDM draws 0.07A (70mA) constantly (use a battery disconnect switch for extended storage periods).
